So we were looking at a lot of technologies around reshoring of manufacturing and how to bring back some of the jobs and some of the capabilities and skill sets that were offshored and lost a few decades ago.
We had come to the conclusion that in order to do that you'd need robots.
And then we decided that in order to really accomplish the tasks, you needed something that was more tactile in nature, not just pure vision based.
AI has become really good at coding. It’s very good at writing and at language. But it cannot solve today's problems of performing dextrous tasks.
And that is because robots today cannot touch and feel the real world like human beings can.
We're developing a dextrous AI technology. basically the nervous system for robotics.
So you have to create sensor technology that enables in a very similar function as humans.
It has tactile sensors in the front, motion capture sensors in the back.
We deploy this on the expert factory workers. These workers then demonstrate how these dextrous assembly tasks are performed. We then ingest that into our pre-trained model, then generate AI policies and algorithms which we then deploy on our dextrous hands. So this ability to ingest real world data at very high scale is what we refer to as Dexterous Intelligence which is what we're enabling at Tacta.
